Yippee and Halleluja! Back in the saddle today! Found a Sestertius, an 1861 Victorian penny and a button. Not many good signals, but a good day out. The reverse side of the Sestertius is very worn, unfortunately. I checked my Spinks ‘Coins of England’ book but can’t see the vague obverse anywhere. Flo might know!

IDing I’m about to embark on identifying Roman coins not yet shown to FLO. It’s tricky though because with the naked eye it seems there is detail there but when you zoom in it’s not good. and

Fossils! Fossils galore today. Some here aren’t fossils but items of interest. Not sure if bottom-left pitted stone is anything but it was the only one that I noticed with pits so perhaps it’s relevant? Buckle and bits I was pleased to find this buckle but oddly the pin seems to be the wrong way round. Don’t know the age, not in my book, will ask Flo!
